would dictate that considering the odds of the earth having just the right chemicals, temp. gravity, atmosphere, and presence of water to develop and sustain life and then that life evolving to become intelligent (in some cases) and self aware an outside force most likely assisted this almost statistically impossible chain of longshots. That leaves you with either god or terra farming aliens. I prefer to go with the divine.
