but this is actually a very interesting well thought out idea.

Just for the purposes of clarification, I am not sure what you mean when you say normal elements, advanced elements and expert elements.

Right now there is only one type of element in the game, so how would the three differrent types of elements work? Would you have to use multiple elements to create the advanced and expert elements?

Please correct me if I have misunderstood your post.
