I'm going through the Horus Heresy series, I think it's book 11 or 12 I've just finished... The series is by numerous authors, but Dan Abnett's the main man Sci-Fi action at it's grandest; makes the Star Wars and Star trek universes look like playground arguing, awesome stuff! (In the far future, there is only war!!!) RAWR!!! I really like the Disc-World series by Terry Pratchett (legend), any book by Bernard Cornwell (especially the Sharpe series and the Warlord chronicles), Tom Clancy (of course ), and I am finding Andy McNab's stuff pretty cool too... But my favourite book of all time has to be About Face, an autobiography of an American soldier who fought in Korea and Vietnam (Col. David Hackworth)... that motherf*cker was one hardcore bastard, possibly the founder of modern Special Forces, and supposedly the basis of Marlon Brando's character in Apocalypse Now! - Nuff said |
