Subject: Clan Ownership problem

Reasons aside, I'm trying to pass ownership to a friend of mine while I visit a neighbouring Clan. I enter the right ID, and get the verification email. But when I follow the link from an email, it leads me to a page that says "Your code was incorrect!" And I'm stumped as to what to do next.

From what I understand, other people have been experiencing a similar problem. Is this a bug? Or is there something I'm not seeing here?
