| Those who prosper according to the worldy definiton of prosperity. Prosperity does not mean to have all the materialistic posessions possible, or to even have the constant outward appearance of a happy person. That doesn't make you a prosperous person. True prosperity comes from seeking God and reaping the rewards for doing so. Would you rather be richer than Bill Gates for your 70-80 years of life here and sin and be "wicked" your whole life and "prosperous" just to find out you'll end up in Hell for an eternity after this human life is over? EDIT>>>: The flames of hell are the hottest most intense flames you can ever experience. They do not burn your flesh... They burn your soul. For eternity... Once you are in hell, there is NO WAY out. The same sensation of pain you receive from touching a hot stove will be multiplied an infinite amount, and that pain is felt by your soul, not your hand. I for one would gladly accept the worldy "suffering" and lack of "prosperity" in this Humanly life, and serve my God and follow his commandments to end up with an Eternal Life of TRUE happiness and salvation that is only achievable through him. The promise of Eternal Life is not just some shiny piece of metal waved in your face. It's not just something mentioned to get your attention, or to fool you into Christianity. The truth is... even I am capable of seeing.. A life of eternal "THIS?" and by This I refer to... the way life is now? Who would want that...? I'm not saying I would like to die but... I can't wait to get "this life" over... No... Im not emo or anything... I love all the amazing parts of this humanly life that I get to feel and experience, but they are not comparable to what the Lord has. The eternal life he promises is nothing like this... You are not gonna live forever with no possibility of death in a corrupt, wicked world like this. Things will be much different. This is after sin. This is after wickedness. This is eternal Joy. It may be hard to understand... to believe that you will live humanity FOREVER? Who would want that? No one... but youve gotta understand... the Eternal Life that is promised is nothing like the humanly life we live now. It is nothing but joy and peace. This is why it is a promise, or a goal for us to reach. It's definitely a prize worth achieving. |
